1st Day - Sanya, here we come!

This is my first trip with dear since our honeymoon trip to Korea in Jan 2007.
Our 2nd trip to Egypt did not happened as I was expecting K.

Strangely, I am not feeling excited :) A large part of me is still with K.
I actually could not bear to be apart from him for so many days. Can't believe I cried when Papa fetched K back to their home last night.

Nonetheless, it's 3.20am. We prepared and got ready to set for Changi Airport.

We arrived @ 5am. It's really BUDGET! :)

Before check-in point was Mcdonalds/Hanls (Han's bro. hehe)
Therefore we decided to check in and then have breakfast.

Queued almost half an hour at Kopitiam for our toast bread/egg and coffee. Well, photos looked much better than it taste.

We finally reached Haikou International Airport @ 9.35am.
Weather was pretty cold @ 16degree and was gloomy/drizzling.
Starting to get worried! Are we in the right place with Sunny beach? Hmm...
A little disappointed!

We were famished by now and quickly tucked into a hot bowl of beef noodles @ the airport. Cost 32RMB (approx S$6 plus)

Discovered my luggage was broken by the airport staff, and went to report after breakfast. How unfortunate even before I started my trip.
Had to live with my broken legged luggage throughout the trip and managed to eventually claim S$40 from insurance later.

The journey from Haikou Airport to Sanya is about 4-5hrs.
There was a guy who offered to take us there @ RMB320, but we did not really trust him, and decided to take bus to Northline(RMB15 each). But we waited very long till 11.30am but the bus still did not depart the airport.
Another guy passenger offered us to share cab to the Northline for RMB60.
But what shocked us was the cabs need to move in queue. That driver who strike us the deal was the last cab in line, and could not cut queue too.

Eventually we gave up and took the 1st guy's offer, but we bargained down to RMB280.
Wasted 2 hours @ the airport.

Finally reached our hotel @ 3.30pm - Feeling really exhausted.
Relief that as we travelled up to Sanya, it became a Sunny Island just as hot as Singapore.

We wanted to relax, but did not have enough time to go to the famous Nantian Hotspring.
Asked the hotel staff and they helped us arrange for another smaller scale hotspring. Cab fare to Hotspring/dinner then back to hotel was RMB50.
So we set to go to the hotspring.

We reached Tianyuan Hot Springs, located in Shuijiao Village, Fenghuang Town, Sanya City. The temperature of Tianyuan hotspring was about 42℃. Although they have a total of 88 pools, but most of them are not well maintained and run down. Was a culture shock to me, as I felt it was dirty
Was a "heaven" and "hell" comparison, especially so after been to Korea's hotspring.

Worse of all, nil service. and Cost RMB195 per pax for entrance.
We topped up another RMB152 for massage.

Left the place close to 8pm and had dinner at a small restuarant recommeded by the driver.

Ended off our 1st day! Hotel Sweet Hotel!
