Love is a strange thing

Love and marriage on the outside seems to be a glorious ride but everyone who has been married tells us—it is a bumpy one…beware. But they do say love cures all. Deciding to love and stick through it during all kinds of obstacles is not an easy road. However, the rewards are amazing. Make it a choice to go out of your way to be nice to your spouse.

This unexpected gesture of love will trigger something in him or her and make her respond to you the same way!

Bangkok - More of local life ...

Life is not easy for some locals.
You see small businesses everywhere in Bangkok.
Streets are not orderly and clean like Singapore...

Tuk- tuk is one of their common transport. For tourist, you will need to know how to bargain with them for a good rate. However it's not easy when you do not know how to speak Thai language.

The traffic in Bangkok city is terrible. Usually you will end up in a JAM, and will not be surprised it will take an hour just to get to a place which you can reached by walking for 10 mins...

Bangkok - BTS train + cab system

As the traffic conditions in Bangkok is terrible, people prefer to take their BTS train system to commute.

It's similar to the train system we have in Singapore.
Just that their interchange station to the next line station is just walking distance away.
Example from Sukhumvit to Ashok... Interesting and confusing...

Some cabs go by meter, some quote you by flat rate... We discovered that cab drivers are smart, they will charge you flat rate when they know there's no JAM, and meter when there's JAM.. :)

Bangkok getaway - Day 4

Depending on what you want to do in Bangkok, there's actually alot but too little time.

On this trip, we didn't shop much. More window shopping.

There was also no particular agenda, other than just take things slow for us...

And we did.
Everything just slowed down....
We were not rushing... To buy the most number of things, not rushing to take the most number of photos. In fact I was using iPhone most times.
Not rushing for the most famous or rated foods as we were not really foodies...

We appreciate the time just alone, chill out at Starbucks, dinner at Above Eleven,  Spa at Divana, our foot massages at night... Not forgetting my haircut by Phonatip....

Well today is the last day in Bangkok.
And we will take it slow before we return to the reality again.

In a foreign place, I feel to live the local way is the best to understand the place.
We took the trains, and lived like the locals.
Minus street food as I have weak stomache.

In Bangkok, it is not surprising to see small business everywhere....
Seems anyone can just find a spot and set up... Just selling stuffs from toys, clothes, pouches to food...

Streets are not clean... Nor tidy. There's air pollution and beggars...
It's always when I am overseas, I truly appreciate the orderly garden city we have in singapore, that most often, people take for granted and grumbles/complains about our government whom have done such a great job in maintaining our country...

We went out about 9.30am, had our usual dose of Starbucks.
Today we had caramel macchiato.

Waiting till Platinum opens for business but not all shops were opened.

Did our last min shopping and went back hotel to check out. Before heading back to Platinum for lunch.

We have our last serving of Mango sticky rice.

I ordered duck kway teow soup and Sam wanton noodle with crab claw.

We left our hotel around 1.40pm local time for Don Mueang international airport.
Checked in, and while waiting for flight back to singapore, I m having another cup of coffee...

Sam intend to order a black label whisky to see if it helps his phobia for the flight.
Actually the 3 glasses if whisky did not really help him.

The pilot on our budget air flight back was much better than the first.
At least he didn't hover in the air too long before the seatbelt sign went off.

Sam concluded it was the pilot that made the difference.
Still he would not never take budget flights again.

At 6.30pm, we ate the KFC zinger burger we bought.

Admiring the beautiful clouds on my flight back.
It's awesome how great God's creation is.

Missing my two darling ks now.

Can't wait to see them...
Will be a while we can go for trips without them again....

Until then.

On the way home.
Home sweet home...

Above Eleven - Rooftop restaurant in Bangkok

After massage, we made our way back to hotel to change for dinner at Above Eleven. This marks our early Friday chillax and early anniversary celebration dinner :)

This is a rooftop restaurant located at Fraser Suites
Address: Sukhumvit Road Soi 11 Klong Toey Bangkok 10110 Thailand
Nearest BTS station is Nana.

The food is average, but I guess people pay for the ambience.
As it was Wednesday night, the Margarita was super cheap at 150 baht = Sgd 6

Bangkok - Erawan Museum

Bangkok getaway - Day 3

We slept well only with the help of little yellow flu tab which caused us to be drowsy.
Are we that stressed up?

Today we plan to visit the Erawan Museum.
Address: 99/9 moo 1 Bangmuangmai Samut Prakan BANGKOK 10270 Thailand

We took the train from Ratchaburi BTS to bearing station.
Then took cab to museum for 100 baht

Entrance fee was 300 baht per person

Spent about an hour there and bought 4 pouches - 50 baht each

We then took a cab back to bearing BTS to National stadium where MBK is.

Walked around but did not buy anything.
Then we had lunch there.
Finally tried the sticky mango rice which is very nice.

After which we made our way to Divana Spa. We almost went to the wrong branch. Thankfully we made it in time.
Was a rather nice experience - about 60 bucks sin

After dinner we took a train back again.
And had ice cream at Swensens.

After that we walked back to hotel, bathe and here we are, final night at Bangkok, to do our foot massage.
